We Need...

Growers: It’s everyone’s favorite job involving once a week work in the summer.

Weeders and Waterers: Surprisingly satisfying work.

Gleaners: Good with being on ladders or coordinating from the ground. (July-October)

Irrigation consulting and installation

Transportation of harvested food to the Food Banks

Tree Watchers: Needed to check on trees for ripe fruit to alert the gleaners.

Greenhouse / tunnel experience: This is intensive gardening that helps extend our season.

Harvesters: The gardens need once or twice a week harvesters who can then take the produce to the food bank.

Infrastructure Workers: Have a talent for building? We need your expertise from time to time on fences, sheds, raised beds, wash stations, greenhouses...

Lifting and Loading: We buy some materials in bulk or high quantities and store them at our garden locations that have the room to house them. Occasionally, we need teams of folks to help load and unload trucks and trailers to distribute to the other gardens. Bringing a truck bed or trailer is bonus!

Grant Writers and Fund Raisers: This is an as needed task once or twice a year.

Garden Geeks: Help us get the word out about our accomplishments by adding content to the website, Facebook or Instagram.

Spring Plant Sale Coordinator:  Help plant, pot, and sell seedlings for the Spring fundraiser in April.

All-Call Work Parties:  When you sign up for the Newsletter, you may also elect to be on the "All-Call" list for a special one-time need such as putting up a fence or a greenhouse or transporting large quantities of supplies or materials from one place to another. Work party details will be provided either on the Newsletter or as a separate e-mailing.
