Meet Mary Beth Haralovich, FBG Board Secretary

A tisket a TASK KIT, Mary Beth's seeds are the beginning of our harvest.

Mary Beth is our favorite seedy friend. We all have our secret obsessions, Mary Beth's is keeping track of 300+ packets of seeds for the FBG Seed Bank. She first became attached to this underground seedy world via Barbara Tustingwho she joinedto load up every single variety onto the FBG Google Docs. Mary Beth offered to maintain the list and then -- well -- you can never have enough seeds.  She keeps tubs of them at her Seed Bank and FBG Archive  in a no-longer-spare-room of her house.

Oh sure, she's a fabulous secretary and each month can translate zoom meeting madness into a legible document to keep projects moving ahead, but that's just a front...  Mary Beth's real vocation is volunteering at Quimper Grange Food Bank Garden. She loves being in the garden and with the crew. She gives gratitude (or blame) to taking not one, but three, Growing Groceriesclasses. Look for her at the Quimper Garden, she's the one under the blue hat.

Where does she get her sense of organization?  Maybe from one of the 9 states she's lived in -- IN, WI, IA, VT, AZ, TX, CA, AK, and WA. Each state bears its unwritten rules for getting along with others. Perhaps she looks at her seeds the same way, work together or work apart, just get. to. work!

On the top of her favorite list -- scallions.  "They are fast, easy, pretty, and tasty," she says.

Thanks for your invaluable skill set, Mary Beth, and being our organization's communication maven -- both are seeds for growth.
