Swan Garden volunteer (and horticulturist) Claire Farringer displays a sampling of the tomatoes grown at Swan. Many of the tomato plants were started and gifted to us by Master Gardener Tim O’Neill. (Thanks again, Tim!) These tomatoes were started in Tim’s greenhouse and planted outside at Swan in June.


The wrinkled toms are
Zapotec, which I personally had never heard of before. There are still a ton of green toms that I hope will either be ripened on the vine or through other means before the season comes to an end. When I was at Quimper Grange last week, I saw Barbara [Tusting] had hung tomato branches with fruit on them upside down in the hoop house.
