April Plant Sale Results!

Wonderful turnout for 2nd Annual Plant Sale!

The Food Bank Growers' 2nd Annual Plant Sale is over for now, but the spirit of giving continues. Donations are still coming in, and a rash of new volunteers signed up for a variety of garden and office-oriented tasks. Our biggest seller this year was the two-hour weeding extravaganza with Kathy and Barbara.

The Walk-In Sale was just as popular.Au Contraire provided toe-tapping tunes, many more plants were sold, and nearly $1000 of plants went to other Food Bank and Community Gardens. Herb's Worm Bin demonstration was fascinating, he still may have one available if you missed out.

Pam B won the Garden Bear drawing. The Bear has her own chair by the fireplace and is now a 'member of the family'.

As for the Seeds For Ukraine seed sales, we are pleased to be sending nearly $100 to World Center Kitchen (wck.org) from all of us.

No resting on our laurels here - we're already preparing for our Fall Plant Sale - focused on providing vigorous starts for winter gardening. Perhaps we could all 'grow a row' for our Food Banks this year!

A big THANK YOU to Plant Sale co-managers  Barbara Tusting and Mark Paxton. This sale took months of effort from when Kim Danner first planted the seeds at the Quimper Grange greenhouse, to potting out of seedlings, to making sure they went to right people. The online website worked perfectly and is now dialed in for any future events and we have our publicity planned. The day went smoothly because of all the work that came before.
