PTHS is "Well" on its Way

Growing Nutritious Food is off to an Early Start

It's the first week in June 2022 and this sunny spot is showing off what years of soil development and weekly love can do to transform what was nasty gravel at the end of a parking lot into a highly productive garden both for education and eating.

Above Kathy Ryan maintains the peas and below Ruth Blyther hand picks out the baby weeds from the baby greens crops.  Ruth also oversees the Co-op FBG.

Doug van Allen manages this garden until a new PTHS Garden Coordinator is hired. You'll find Doug helping out at the Blue Heron Middle School orchard as well.

The PTHS garden is unique in that it brings fresh, nutrient dense food to the culinary classes at the high school as well as providing food for the PT Food Bank.
