Bunnies Be GONE

Boat School Garden Veggies are Fenced In

Our Garden Co-ordinator,  Sophie DeGroot  along with  Barbara Tusting  and Mary  Hunt, took advantage of the rain-soaked soil to trench out and put chicken wire fencing into place at the Boat School garden. While the 4 inch square fencing looks great, it was an open door to rabbits who have been helping themselves to the "Garden Deli."

In case you have a similar project, it took the three of them 1.5 hours to put in 60 feet of fencing and tie it off to the heavy deer fencing with electrical ties. It was easy work, but if the ground hadn't been soaked then the gravel and clay dirt would not have budged even with pick axes. Something to keep in mind for your next trenching project.

So far the 2 inch black, plastic deer fence (seen behind Sophie) seems to be keeping out both deer and bunnies.
