Apple Saucing 2025

1950 pounds + 65 buckets = a ton of work

ABOVE: Apples may come in all shapes and sizes, but they all get sauced in the end.

This year's marathon was 10 hours long at the Blue Heron Middle School kitchen. Lots of cross-trained hands made for a relaxing day of washing, chipping, cooking, saucing, cooling, and freezing... This year's batch was just the right amount to texture to taste. The end result will be served at Port Townsend, Chimacum, and Quilcene Schools as toppings for pancakes, muffin ingredients, or just straight up fresh.

A huge thanks to all the volunteers who made it happen for the 5th time.  Dorothy, Rach, Mary O, Seth, Tom, Keith, Milly, Hailian, Jim, Doug, Mary H, Alex, Glenn, Suzanne, Nicole, and all the pickers who provided 3000 pounds of apples.
