Meet Birch Shapiro, Board Member at Large

Birch Shapiro is the Garden Manager for  BirchyVille Garden Coop. He studied Horticulture at Evergreen State College and is interest in adapting food styles to the changing veg varieties for our local gardens in the maritime climate. 

Birch has created an Urban Farm to adapt plant varieties, using ecological techniques and low labor. The farm is like a plant library. 

Birch believes that Food Security is something for which we need to plan.
